At CDS Life Transitions, we serve many diverse populations, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, families, seniors, veterans, the chronically ill, and children. Our Blog is intended to engage both the diverse communities we serve and the many people who compose our circle of support, who give time, talent and resources to further our mission.
The genesis of CDS Life Transitions was the establishment of CDS Monarch 43 years ago, the brainchild of parents who had children with disabilities, who were aging out of school and in need of a safe haven that would provide community, growth and opportunity. The mindset that accompanied this human service organization is the current that runs through all of our affiliates today. This mindset acknowledges that all people face unique challenges and have different abilities, yet all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, deserve opportunity and deserve care. This mindset also ascribes to the tenet that belonging to a community, and being a part of something larger than oneself, drives happiness, health and well-being.
We are an organization that has grown through community building for underserved populations. This value creation is the output of our mission to create opportunities for people through our compassionate, community-focused organizations.
No woman or man is an island and CDS Life Transitions proves this universal truth every day.
Enjoy our Blog and the varied topics that we address and ponder as we strive to serve as many people as possible.
Sincerely,
Sankar Sewnauth
