Rochester, N.Y. – April 28, 2017 – CDS Monarch is hosting its annual Autism Awareness Fair Friday, April 28th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 860 Hard Road, Webster. The Autism Awareness Fair aims to raise awareness for autism and inform the community about educational resources in a fun-filled setting. This event is free and open to the public and will include activities for families and children.

“The Autism Awareness Fair is a great opportunity for the community to come and learn about all the resources available for people diagnosed with autism,” CDS Life Transitions President/CEO Sankar Sewnauth said. “We partner with a lot of local agencies who come together to help inform the community, and those who attend the fair always have a lot of fun.”

Local agencies that will be attending include Camp Puzzle Piece, Never Say Never Stables, Together Including Every Student (TIES) and Jeremy Iheoma, author and illustrator of My Super Life with Autism, among others.

The Autism Awareness Fair coincides with National Autism Awareness Month. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause social, communication and behavioral challenges and affects about one in 68 children across all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups, according to the Centers for Disease control.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary under its parent company, CDS Life Transitions, CDS Monarch assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live and thrive in their communities by delivering high-quality, personalized life planning and transition support.
