Why ROC: CDS Monarch Senior Community

CDS Monarch President & CEO Sankar Sewnauth discussed a new Senior Living Community planned for Webster in our Why ROC segment Wednesday morning on News 8 at Sunrise.

A groundbreaking for the project will be held Wednesday morning at 10am.

This will be the second CDS Monarch Senior Living community. It will be located at 860 Hard Road in Webster. The senior living project will offer apartments for seniors 55 and older, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and veterans.

The community will contain 50 units of affordable senior housing, including 46 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom units. Five of the units will be fully accessible for persons with physical disabilities, including roll-in showers. Two units will be fully adapted for persons with visual or hearing disabilities, and all of the other units will be adaptable. Fifteen units will be set aside for seniors with physical or developmental disabilities.

Residents will have access to CDS Monarch’s Wolf Life Transitions Center, which is located on a neighboring property.

Sewnauth said there is clear demand for the second facility. A waiting list for entry already exists. He said the support of elected leaders like Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, as well as State Legislators like Joe Morelle, Joe Robach and Mike Nozzolio, along with the expertise of Christa Construction helped propel the project forward.

The new facility is expected to be operational in the spring of 2015.
