The Wolf Foundation Hosts its 7th Annual Strikes for Abilities Bowling Event

In recognition of National Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness month, The Wolf Foundation is holding its 7th Annual “Strikes for Abilities” Bowling Party this Sunday, March 9th, at Clover Lanes on Monroe Ave. in Rochester. This year’s presenting sponsors are North Forest Office Space, Gallo & Iacovangelo, and Mr. and Mrs. John Norton and Salmin, Celona, Wehrle and Flaherty, LLP.

“Unfunded health and wellness activities, like our Special Olympics program, continue to thrive at CDS Monarch because of the generosity of our community,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, CDS Monarch President/CEO. “The Wolf Foundation and the Volunteer Committee have done an excellent job of bringing together the people we serve, their families, staff and members of the community to help us raise the money needed to ensure that these opportunities and services will be sustained into the future.”

This event is open to the public, and will bring together more than 300 people from the Greater Rochester community. At last year’s event, The Wolf Foundation raised $26,000. This year, The Wolf Foundation plans to surpass that amount. All the funds raised will benefit unfunded recreation, and health and wellness opportunities, such as the Special Olympics teams, for people supported by CDS Monarch. CDS Monarch has more than 100 athletes who participate actively in Special Olympics.

“My brother Chuckie is just one of many who looks forward to, and benefits from, the health, wellness and recreational activities that The Wolf Foundation supports at CDS Monarch,” said Margie Dell, Volunteer Committee Chair for the event. “I see firsthand how vitally necessary these activities are to his well-being and growth, both individually and socially. I am grateful for the community’s generous support of the annual Strikes for Abilities event, so that people like my brother Chuckie, are able to have these meaningful experiences.”

This sold out event is set to take place at Clover Lanes, 2750 Monroe Ave., Rochester, NY. In-person registration begins at 1PM with bowling beginning at 2PM. Participants are invited to bowl by themselves or with a team of up to five people. Registration includes two games, shoe rental, and pizza.
